violet wedding gown

These are pictures of one of a few dresses that can be seen at the National Museum in Prague at the exhibition cycle called Monarchy. I was intrigued by the unusual choice of colour, although I know that the tradition of white wedding dress is relatively new. I also loved the triangular trimmings, so I made some close-ups of them. The shape of the dress is also very appealing to me, so I had to share it.

  1. That is a beautiful dress! I'm just amazed at the detail, and I agree the shape of it is very flattering!

  2. It's great to see it properly displayed! I remember seeing it on e-sbirky, but there it's just a flat picture that one can't see anything of the dress' true shape. Thanks for sharing!

  3. I believe green used to be a common colour for wedding dresses at one point but I don't know when that changed
